The short 10' (3.05m) and 11' (3.35m) Hi-S rods are incredibly light and thin rods with a large power reserve. It is especially suitable for fishing near the shore, from a boat, or even for balancing. They are produced in several variants from 2.75lb to 3.5lb. The softest 10' 2.75lb variant with an optimum load of approx 45-60g is very soft but has enough power to tackle big carp. The slightly thicker 3lb (50-75g) is highly versatile, suitable for virtually all situations. 3.25lb (55 – 85g) has even more power reserves for challenging big carp. However, they are not at all stiff even when tackling medium-sized fish. The 10' 3.5lb (60-90g) is best used in tougher terrain when you need to keep larger fish away from dangerous spots. 11' 3.5lb (65 – 105g) is kind of a compromise between short 10' and longer 12' rods. It is more manoeuvrable than 12' rods, but allows you to negotiate further and lean more into the fish than 10' rods.
The surface of the rods is matte, without varnish, laser-ground. Thanks to this technology, they are practically impossible to scratch. Even after years they look like new. The saddle has a blank design with original FUJI rings, a blue isotope is built into the saddle. The rods are equipped with first-class SiC guides, which either start at 30mm or with a larger 40mm (the whole set of guides is then one size larger. The handle is either split or full cork, custom made and full EVA (special Japanese rubber). All Hi rods -S are hand made in England.
